洋奶粉事件:
1999年 欧盟四国出产的奶品可能受到致癌物质“二恶英”污染，6个牌子的乳制产品在港被禁售。
2000年 日本雪印公司奶粉、低脂肪牛奶、酸奶等3种牛奶制品被查出金黄色葡萄球菌毒素，造成1．5万名消费者中毒，所有产品被迫全部召回。
2002年 美国惠氏药厂（中国）有限公司生产的爱儿乐妈妈(S-26MAMA)孕产妇配方奶粉、爱儿素(NURSOY)婴儿豆基配方粉因坂肠杆菌超标被限令召回。
2002年 美国惠氏药厂（中国）有限公司召回一批亚硝酸盐含量超标学儿乐配方奶粉。 2002年 丹麦产荷兰“多美滋”奶粉受微小金属颗粒和润滑油污染，被全球召回。

2003年 美国亨氏奶粉疑与婴儿死亡有关在以色列被召回。
2003年 比利时、荷兰、法国、德国等西欧四国奶粉、牛奶、黄油、冰淇淋等乳制品内被检测出与DDT杀虫剂相当的致癌物质“二恶英”，爆发有史以来最大的食品安全问题。
2004年 美国美赞臣奶粉因阪崎氏肠杆菌奶粉超标被判为不合格产品进行销毁，并对消费者进行赔偿。
2005年 美国雀巢“金牌成长3＋奶粉”多批次被查出含碘超标，被迫进行大规模产品召回。
2006年 共计10万公斤同一美国品牌的3批奶粉被连续检出亚硝酸盐含量超标而被北京市出入境检验检疫局退运处理。
2006年 美国美赞臣GENTLEASE牌婴幼儿人工配方奶粉检查出含有金属颗粒，被紧急召回。
2007年 日本明治FU高蛋白较大婴儿配方奶粉，锌含量不符合标准被判为不合格商品，被要求立即下柜。
2008年 因密封不善而导致罐中奶粉被氧化，美国雅培召回两批特殊配方婴儿奶粉。
2008年 制作上等比萨饼必不可少的原料意大利莫扎里拉奶酪被检测出二恶英，目前事件尚在调查中。

From the list, my un-educated impression is that their problems mainly come from poor supervision on raw material and manufacturing.
However, the nature of the Sanlu's tainted milk incident is quite different. Somebody deliberately added melamine in the milk to fool the public on the protein content.
I never think the hands of these foreign companies are clean. They lobby and dig up every single loophole in the system to favor them. However, at least, they follow the rules. They treasure their goodwill.

早前評論國民質素低官員，民眾處事馬虎求期，實在粗淺。其實犯罪者頭腦相當精密。
國內的「特大事故」非常有特色。每次都有「演化」，「革新」和「克服前次障礙」的發展。非常有生命力。
1)奶粉事故：（第一階段）大頭B事件因奶品沒有營養：（第二階段）更正錯誤，加入「蛋白精」提高營養參數。：（第三階段）有待觀察
2)礦難事故：（第一階段）礦場事故礦主隱瞞死傷情況。（第二階段）更正錯誤，礦主囚禁礦工工作，全面封閉，遇事也不用公告死傷情況。
其他如有毒玩具，地震事故。下次事發，或許會看到新的演變。

When they said they put so call "new formula" in their products, God knows what kind of substance they put in which might not be detectable or harmful since they are so advance in pharmaceutical area.
Remember the Balco Lab incident at all?
More recently, The babies from New Sealand got sick because they changed the "formula"
